Spring Pirates Baseball--One HUGE Game
Picture it if you will. We're halfway into the season of Pirates baseball… And one Saturday morning, we face off against the only other undefeated team in our division.
We were playing good ball, but so were the Dodgers.
It was back-and-forth every half inning. I think the lead changed six or seven times. And in the top of the sixth (we only play six innings), the other team went up six runs on us. We HAD to get six runs--the max possible in one inning--or we would get the loss. We got one out pretty quickly... But then, we cobbled together one, two, five runs... And then one teammate pop flied out. Bases loaded. And all we had left, to knock in the last run, and save our undefeated record....

Rally caps. (You guys, I was SHAKING. This is a VERY STRESSFUL SPORT.)
Our kid had the walk-off RBI, and his teammates swarmed and tackled him at first base. (Yes, I started crying.)
