LCYO Championship Game!

Image
Dodgers v. Pirates. LCYO baseball. Destined to be an all-time classic. Somebody let this cat on the microphone. He did a great job announcing the players at-bat, as well as a surprisingly rousing rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" for the 4th inning stretch. Love that my husband continues to surprise me. The boys graciously welcomed the crowd as their names were called in the lineup. And the fans went wild! :) Jack loves playing catcher! Little sisters club :) Team awards and congratulations Unfortunately, the Pirates fell behind in the 3rd inning and we couldn't come back to take the championship. The boys were amazing, proud and gentlemanly even in defeat. We really learned so much this year together and have loved each minute.

Disneyland with Grandparents and Ciardellas!

I surprised the kids by taking them (with Gigi and Bevo) to Disneyland on Saturday of Memorial Weekend. It was crowded! But we made the most of it, and always love seeing the BFF Ciardellas.

Tess at the scene of the fires

There's nothing to feel at the scene of the devastation but vulnerability and sadness...

North County SD Fires

Image
There are several in our area, as I write, an estimated six fires. Two have been close to us, the Poinsettia Fire and the Twin Oaks/San Marcos Fire. We are immediately between the evacuation areas of the two fires. There are also a couple more east of us, and one north at Camp Pendleton. Again, we are on alert but have not been evacuated. The kids are spooked and school is cancelled tomorrow, but we are fine. Driving home from school/work (1pm) Across El Camino from our local grocery Smoke started choking the air and ash falling around 3pm Second nearby fire, San Marcos, began 4ish (this is from our back windows looking east) Looking back west toward Poinsettia Fire, now east side mostly contained (good for us) Hopefully not a Bad Moon Rising (8pm, over cresting San Marcos Fire) Love and prayers to those evacuated from homes.

A Lovely Mother's Day
